LET’S SUSTAIN OUR LOCAL FOOD ECONOMIES AND

MAKE OUR NEIGHBORHOODS WALKABLE

Let’s try to eat more locally-grown fruits and vegetables and less processed, heavily packaged foods - for the environment and for our health. Let’s make a commitment to buy local and reduce our consumption of imported, out-of-season produce from around the world. It is strange that we live in an agricultural state and import nearly everything we eat. We need to support local food and farm businesses that make up a thriving local food economy.

Imagine supporting a new network of local greenhouses that can grow a multitude of fruits and vegetables all year round. Imagine signing up for a Community Supported Agriculture share and learning what to do with kale. And imagine regularly visiting a local farmer’s market, so you know exactly who grew your vegetables.
