LET'S PROMOTE A CITYWIDE TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE

The more we spread our houses out into suburbs, the more we will need to rely on cars to get around. And the more we drive, the more we contribute to rising emissions. Let's urge our cities to promote smart growth instead of constant outward development (dumb growth).

            >> Smart Growth is about infill: it’s a method of building shops, schools, and transportation services

within existing suburbs and urban areas to promote walking and less driving.

Imagine a light rail transportation in our towns and cities that would connect to a statewide infrastructure for public transportation. We would be less reliant on cars. This system would also liberate senior citizens who no longer drive and young people who don't drive yet, and city workers would not need cars. Did you know: many towns had a light rail at one point and threw it away?!

Let's place our light rails next to schools to maximize efficiency.
